The law governs matrimonial property regimes, donations, and successions within a family and inheritances. The law stipulates that land ownership is transferred by inheritance like any other immovable property. The sharing of land property follows the same rules as those applicable to the sharing of other types of property. It However prohibits the subdivision of the land intended for agricultural and livestock activities.

It also sees to the requirements for obtaining business license and fees for registration of agrochemicals. It highlights the list of registered and prohibited agrochemicals in the country. It addresses key issues, ranging from registration of agrochemicals to licensing of dealers, and to packages, labelling, transportation, advertising, storage, and use of agrochemicals.

Law on Preservation of Air Quality and Prevention of Air Pollution in Rwanda

The law is under several national and international protocols and ratifications on climate change. It determines modalities for the preservation of air quality and the prevention of air pollution in Rwanda. The Law applies to all measures aimed at the preservation of air quality as well as all elements or activities likely to affect air quality or pollute the atmosphere. The law fails to cover air pollutants arising from; military operations and drills, use of radioactive substances, firefighting operations, and natural disasters.

Order Establishing the Kigali Special Economic Zone (KSEZ)

The ministerial order by the Prime Minister establishes the Kigali Special Economic Zone (KSEZ). The KSEZ shall consist of both a free trade zone area and a non-free trade zone area. The KSEZ is established to promote a conducive environment suitable for trades in agro-industry, tourism, construction, financial, technology, and other economic development activities.

Law Establishing Rwanda Association of Professional Environmental Practitioners

The law establishes the Rwanda association of professional environmental practitioners (RAPEP). The association shall have its distinct legal personality and financial and administrative autonomy. The association shall comprise all environmental practitioners licensed to operate in Rwanda. Its responsibilities include; representation of the association's interest local and globally, analysing and proffering solutions to the problems facing environmental assessment practitioners' profession, and promotion of professionalism among members, among other objectives.

Law Governing Public Private Partnerships

"The Law applies to several public-private partnership arrangements, including management contract, whereby a Contracting Authority awards a partner the right to manage and perform a specific service concerning an infrastructure facility or other asset for an agreed period, and �Build-Operate-Own� �BOO�, whereby private partner finance, designs, constructs, owns and operates an infrastructure facility or other asset to provide services. The law however does not apply to; contracts subject to the law governing public procurement, and the privatization or divestiture of enterprises, assets and any infrastructure facility owned by the Government".

Rural Electrification Strategy

The rural electrification strategy is geared towards ensuring Rwanda's rural households have unhindered access to electricity, at an effective cost. It aims to leverage four basic programmes; provision of basic solar systems as necessities, support of the private sector through the risk-based mitigating system, development of mini-grids in suitable locations, and the roll-out of the Electricity Access Rollout Programme (EARP). It broadly has an objective of attaining 70% access to electricity by 2017/2018, and 100% by 2020.
