Strategic Plan for the Transformation of Agriculture in Rwanda phase III (PSTA III)

Moving Rwandan agriculture from subsistence-based to knowledge, market, and export-driven one is essential to ensure the targets of the government are met. This policy recognizes the successes achieved by the EDPRS I drove mostly by agricultural interventions. "The third agricultural sector strategy seeks to facilitate the development of Rwanda�s agriculture through an approach based on resource management, human capacity and private sector is driven value chains. The strategic vision for the next five years is a focus on both increased production of staple crops and livestock products. It also emphasizes greater involvement of the private sector to increase agricultural exports, processing and value addition".
