Policy Framework and Reform Strategy for Fisheries and Aquaculture in Africa

This document outlines the challenges faced by the aquaculture sector, which include inadequate governance at National level and for management of transboundary stocks and also some institutional weaknesses. It proposes an objective to improve and strengthen the contribution of small-scale fisheries to poverty alleviation, food and nutrition security and socio-economic benefits of fishing communities. It also presents some strategies and actions for fisheries reform.
