ECOWAS Policy Framework for Security Sector Reform and Governance

The policy framework was designed in alignment with the ECOWAS vision 2020 of ensuring the creation of a space where people can move freely, ply their business and live in peace under the rule of law and good governance. Hence, the framework has the primary objective to eliminate threats to individual group rights, property and the protection of institutions and values of democratic governance.
