Revised Federal Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission Establishment Proclamation

ethiopia, Council of Ministers/Federal Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.

2005ethiopiaDemocracy and GovernancePolicy

The government of Ethiopia recognises the negative impact corruption could have in hindering the social, economic, and political development of the country. It, therefore, deems it necessary to fortify the anti-corruption commission to ensure effectiveness in the discharge of its duties. The Federal Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission is thus established as an independent Federal Government body. The Commission shall be accountable to the Prime Minister, and notwithstanding the provisions of article 3 sub-article 2 of this proclamation, shall not be subject to any form of interference. The commission is charged with creating awareness about corruption in the country, and exposing, investigating and prosecuting corruption offences and impropriety.
